The rescueME PLB1 is built for situations where mobile coverage is not something you can rely on. Once activated, it sends your distress signal and beacon ID through the recognised Cospas-Sarsat satellite network, helping the nearest rescue coordination centre respond to your emergency.

Its compact size is one of its strongest features. At only 116g (4.1oz), it is easy to keep on a belt, pack, lifejacket, boat, or bike without adding much bulk. The retractable antenna keeps the unit tidy when packed, while the spring-loaded flap over the activation button helps reduce the chance of accidental activation.

The PLB1 includes a 66-channel GPS receiver, a 406.040MHz satellite transmitter, a 121.5MHz homing transmitter, and a high-brightness strobe for close-range visibility. It is also supplied as an NZ-coded unit, making it suitable for New Zealand emergency beacon registration and use.

With a 7 year battery life, 7 year warranty, and more than 24 hours of operating life once activated, this is a small piece of safety gear that earns its place in a serious outdoor, boating, hunting, cycling, or backcountry kit.
